Our Services Go Beyond Symptom Relief
Alcohol Abuse and Dependence
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
ADD / ADHD
Alcohol abuse and dependence are due to many interrelated factors. There is no two cases alike and will vary including social influences, how you were raised, genetics, possible race predisposition, and the various stresses in a person’s life. What is common is alcohol will begin to affect a person’s self-esteem, relationships, career, and every aspect of their life. Alcohol abuse can be difficult to recognize at first. In our society, drinking is accepted and encouraged in some situations. Eventually a person may begin to rely on alcohol to get through the day, skip activities so they can drink, may suffer withdrawal symptoms when not drinking, or have difficulty controlling how much they drink. We have specialized treatments using VIvitrol® in conjunction with therapy to help you or a love one succeed at staying sober.
Children with emotional or behavioral problems often struggle at school, home, relationships, and social adjustments. Their challenges are significant but there is hope with proper diagnosis and treatment. There are many different approaches when it comes to treating children with psychiatric disorders. We begin with a complete psychiatric evaluation and then design a treatment plan that is right for the individual child. Our services are designed to assist your child, adolescent, and your family to understand and work together toward a happy fulfilling life.
We offer comprehensive psychological services for older adults throughout San Diego County. We want to improve the mental health and well-being of our clients as they face the unique challenges that arise later in their life. Through consultations and testing, these areas will be identified and a strategy developed unique to their situation. We offer our services in our offices, as well to clients in long term care or nursing homes who are unable to come to our facilities. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder makes people feel very anxious with repeated feelings or thoughts in your mind. These thoughts create distress, apprehension, fear, or a need to do something or follow specific routines. When a person is stressed or tense these symptoms can worsen. This is also a disorder that grows with age. If you feel you might have a mild case of OCD it might get worse over the coming years. Untreated, OCD can take over your life. Obtaining a diagnosis and treatment can help you feel in control and make your life more enjoyable.
